In October of 1978, Canadian DLOC member Mac Hunter wrote to all the North American Daimler and Lanchester owners he knew of to suggest the formation of a "club" on these shores patterned after the British DLOC. His suggestion was met with enthusiasm, and in 1979 the DLOC-NA was a reality. Mac served -with the able assistance of daughter Mary- as club President until his sudden passing in May, 1988.

Quoting from the 1983 membership invitation..."The Aims and Objectives of the Club are to explore and develop sources of spare parts and technical publications, to organize Events where Members may display their Daimlers and Lanchesters and discuss matters of common interest with other Owners, and to communicate with other Members through the Club Newsletter".

The Club today is still focused on those Aims & Objectives, accomplishing them through the regular publication of the Newsletter and staging the annual gathering of Members known as  "Rally".
